The End of Doodle Week

Tomorrow is the day for doodling this month. I can't even be home to do anything tomorrow or today. I'm babysitting as I have done almost every last weekend all winter. Anyway, it seems Doodle Week has wound down to a quiet finish. I will continue to draw myself and I am glad we did this. Thanks for being part of it. :) I hope others will remember to draw once in awhile.

Doodling for March?

There is March Madness, we just passed the Ides of March and tomorrow is St. Patrick's Day. Lots of doodling inspiration for this month.

This time Doodle Week is just going to be one day. So pick a theme and doodle madly on Sunday, March, 29th.

Valentines and Kissing Tomorrow

The dates for Doodle Week got a bit messy this time. So whether you are on Valentines or kissing this close to the end of Doodle Week this month. Add your comment if you have a doodle. :)

Doodle Hearts Today

I know Valentines Day is done for another year. But, it's kind of nice to be in that hearts and flowers frame of mind.

What can you do with the basic shape of a heart? Add swirls, curls or something completely unexpected. Lets see your doodles.

Using Twitter Instead of Linkies?

Some people just love Mr Linkies and some people just... don't.

How would it be to use Twitter as an alternative? Is anyone not on Twitter? I resisted for about a year but ended up there.

I think making a post to Twitter would be a better option to using Linkies in the blog. I could set up a Twitter account just for Doodle Week and only let those who participate follow that account. We can cross post to each other and follow to each blog or Flickr as you post a doodle.

One big benefit as I see it, is that it won't disappear as Linkies have done. Also, if I moderate who joins/ follows I won't have to moderate it beyond that.

Is anyone not on Twitter or violently against the idea?

Update: Claire (I think) already set up Doodle Week on Twitter. Follow along if you please.

February Doodle Week

February should be a fun doodle week. February 22 - 27th.

Romance and flowers. What is February and Valentines Day without flowers. Even in places which are up to their eyeballs in snow the grocery stores are already selling the forced blooms of Spring.

1. Tulips. My favourite of the forced bulbs for Spring.

2. Daisies. The sweet and cute flower for the softly romantic.

3. Roses. For the traditional romantics.

4. Ladybugs. What makes them such a cute and romantic insect anyway?

5. Hearts, draw them in a design. Go wild or romantic.

6. Draw your own Valentine. A Valentine you really can send to someone special.

7. Kissing! Whether you draw two people or two lips, find a way to doodle a kiss.

Any Doodles this Week?

So slow here I think we can just use the Linky in the post below.

I'm working on the animal for today.

Babysitting But Back

I was away babysitting for my sister over the weekend. Just back online tonight. Had to wait while Rogers cut off my service for an hour while they installed it downstairs for the new tenant. So glad to be changing from Rogers!

Anyway, though I am behind a couple of days, let's doodle!

Please leave your link if you have posted a doodle. I will post mine tonight too.

Happy January...

For the January Doodle Week lets think about how those people on the other side of the planet are faring. If you are in North America you've got snow. If you are in my part of Ontario you've got buckets of the chilly white stuff. However, if you are far away and downunder you've got sunshine, not a snowflake in sight.

So for those with snow let's draw sunshine and sandy beaches and loads of flowery summer-type goodness. For those missing the snow, draw it and all it's snowy goodness.

Seven days for us to savour what the other half of the planet has.

Beginning January 24th, the plan for Doodle Week is:

Saturday - What does January look like in your corner of the world?

Sunday - Dragon. It's not year of the dragon but dragons are fun to draw.

Monday - Pick a favourite poem or quotation and write it out on a single page. Doodle all over the page, fill in the spaces as much as you can with doodles and other words as you choose.

Tuesday - Pick your favourite colour and draw yourself a bouquet with flowers mainly in that colour.

Wednesday - Draw your favourite animal.

Thursday - Doodle your dream house. What are your favourite things you would like in the house and around the yard?

Friday - What is your favourite book, movie or song? Doodle something to illustrate it.
